Genesee is a quiet community nestled in the fertile rolling hills and prairie of Idaho’s Palouse country, half way between Moscow and Lewiston. Some of our citizens work in local business, while others are employed in the nearby communities.
The city is well managed and has a superb school system. Catholic, Lutheran and Community churches are important social as well as spiritual centers. The Senior Citizen Center, located between City Hall and the Library, is home to many functions and includes an active American Legion Post downstairs. The Masonic Lodge and the Genesee Civic Association have both been active for many years.
With universities and colleges in Moscow, Lewiston, Pullman and Clarkston, diverse cultural and educational opportunities abound.
